Session: INTERNATIONAL ADDRESS: Implications of the EU’s Net Zero Industry Act for carbon management in Australia

Dr. Alice E. A. Evatt is a Research Fellow on Net Zero for the Fossil Fuel Sector at Oxford Net Zero and the Environmental Change Institute at the University of Oxford. She is also the Net Zero Fellow at Kellogg College, Oxford. Alice is an expert on climate policy and climate ethics. Working alongside Professor Myles Allen (Geophysics), Alice specialises in carbon management policy solutions, with a particular focus on scaling geological carbon storage. Alice led Oxford’s latest Work Package on EU carbon management and CDR technologies in the EU Horizon 2020 NEGEM project on Quantifying and Deploying Responsible Negative Emissions, and is now conducting work on Australian carbon management policy. Alice is also engaged in assessing the credibility of net zero strategies within the Fossil Fuel Sector and is an Expert Advisory Group Member to the Science Based Targets Initiative Oil and Gas Standard Development Project.
